The Longnor Family Group of churches consists of:
- St. Bartholomew’s, Longnor
- St. Paul’s, Quarnford
- St. Luke’s, Sheen
- St. Paul’s, Newtown
These four churches along with St. Lawrence’s in Warslow and St. John’s in Elkstone make up the Longnor Benefice, which in turn is part of the Alstonfield Deanery in the Lichfield Diocese.
Each of the churches are unique, though naturally there are similarities that have evolved due to their links. Their congregations are just as unique. All of the churches are loved and well cared-for by both the church congregations and the community at large, who see them as vital parts of the villages.
Most of them are open during the hours of daylight, and are frequently visited, with Visitor’s Books showing that we have visitors and pilgrims from all over the world as well as quite close to home.
The congregations are welcoming and enthusiastic, though small in number. It must be remembered, however, that the populations of all the villages are also small in number!
