Prayers throughout the day

I awake in the name of the Father (+), and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Blessed be the Father Who created me; Blessed be the Son Who Redeems me; Blessed be the Holy Spirit Who sanctifies me and give me life. Blessed be God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

Our Father…

Lord, wash away my sin and cleanse me from my wickedness

Purge me with hyssop and I shall be clean, wash me in the blood of Your Lamb and I shall be whiter than snow.

Make my heart clean, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.

The Archbishops are encouraging us to say the Lord’s Prayer each time we wash our hands

How have I spent this day?

Have I striven to remember the presence of God, and do all things as in His sight?

What has been the nature of my devotions?

How have I performed my ministerial tasks?

What time have I wasted?

What duties have I neglected towards God, my neighbour or myself?

Of what sins am I conscious – in thought, word or deed?

Have I fallen into my besetting sins?

Have I kept my Rule?

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Pray for your loved ones, and all whom you have encountered during the day past.

Call to mind three sorrows and three things to be thankful (but don’t force it… if you can’t recall three things, one or two is fine; conversely, don’t limit yourself to three if lots more spring to mind).

Almighty God, You have made us for Yourself, and our hearts are restless til they find their rest in You. Pour Your love into our hearts and draw us to Yourself, and so bring us at last to Your heavenly City where we shall see You face to face, through Jesus Christ, Our Lord. Amen

Visit this place, O Lord, we pray, and drive far from us the snares of the enemy; may Your Holy angels dwell with us and guard us in peace, and may Your blessing always be upon us, and all who we love, (you may wish to name them) through Christ our Lord.

Father, thank you for all Your blessings today…

Forgive all my sins, I am truly sorry;

Bless my family and friends everywhere living and departed … and, all in need or trouble…

Bless all who I have wronged…, all who have wronged me…, and give us a forgiving spirit.

Bless me, Your unworthy servant, I leave You all my hopes and fears…, for You know what is best for me.

All these things I ask in the Power of the Spirit and in union with Christ. Amen

Then repeat the Trisagion until you fall asleep : “Holy God, holy and strong, holy and immortal, have mercy upon us.”
